About the Role
Gravton Motors is looking for an experienced CAE Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the design, analysis, and validation of electric vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), multibody dynamics (MBD), structural simulations, and suspension system development. You will work closely with design, testing, and product development teams to optimize vehicle performance, durability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
FEA: Pre-processing
- Create and maintain high-quality FE models of vehicle subsystems and assemblies.
- Perform geometry cleanup, defeaturing, and mesh generation.
- Generate shell, solid, beam, and mixed-element meshes according to quality standard.
- Conduct mesh convergence and sensitivity studies.
- Assemble FE models and define:
- Contacts
- Connections
- Welds
- Fasteners
- Joints
- Boundary Conditions
Analysis:
- Perform Dynamic analysis such as Modal, Frequency response and Random vibration analysis.
- Perform Static structural analysis.
- Evaluate the design and suggest the respective team regarding the design changes required.
- Create 3D models (like brackets, tube bracing etc.) necessary for structural strength.
MBD:
- Develop and validate MBD models of vehicle systems.
- Conduct track-event simulations.
- Extract loads for downstream structural simulations.
- Generate PSD data for durability analysis.
- Suspension and chassis load extraction.
Suspension Design:
- Create mathematical models like Bounce-pitch / Quarter car models.
- Create simulation models in Python/Matlab for evaluating the suspension setup.
- Estimate and optimize the Wheel rates, Spring rates and Motion ratios.
- Calculate and optimize Anti characteristics of the suspension.
Technical Skills:
- Hyper mesh / Hyper works
- Ansys Workbench
- Motion view / Motion solve
- Python/Matlab
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in CAE, FEA, or vehicle simulation.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, finite element methods, and vehicle dynamics.
- Experience in suspension system analysis and optimization.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
