Position Overview
We expect you to be a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Occupational Therapist who would work as a team in a multidisciplinary setting. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic programs to enhance the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of the differently abled individuals at DAC. Working collaboratively with special educators, caregivers, and other therapeutic staff, the you would will play a key role in enabling participants to overcome challenges, develop daily living skills, and achieve personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, sensory, and cognitive skills to determine their capabilities and needs.
- Identify everyone’s unique challenges and design personalized intervention plans to address these needs.
- Therapeutic Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement therapy programs that focus on enhancing functional abilities, improving motor skills, and fostering independence in daily activities.
- Guide and support participants through activities that build fine motor, gross motor, and sensory processing skills.
- Utilize adaptive equipment and creative strategies to facilitate engagement and progress in both group and individual therapy sessions.
- Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with special educators, art trainers, rehabilitation psychologists, Speech and language pathologist, Physiotherapist and other team members to ensure an integrated approach to therapy.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations to support individual progress.
- Communicate effectively with participants’ families, providing guidance and support to foster continued growth at home.
- Documentation and Progress Monitoring
- Maintain detailed records of clients' progress, noting improvements, challenges, and any adjustments made to therapy plans.
- Provide periodic reports on therapy outcomes and present recommendations for continued development.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Program Development and Training
- Contribute to developing innovative programs and activities aligned with DAC’s mission to foster creativity, independence, and self-expression.
- Conduct capacity-building sessions for DAC staff on occupational therapy practices, safety, and techniques to assist participants.
- Actively participate in workshops, and events, to raise awareness about the value of occupational therapy for the differently abled.
