Position Overview
The Students Mobiliser will play a crucial role in identifying, engaging, and mobilizing students from the target communities to participate in skill development training programs. The mobilizer will act as a bridge between the community and the NGO, ensuring that students are informed, motivated, and supported throughout the training and placement processes. The role involves outreach activities, conducting information sessions, building rapport with students, and tracking their progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Outreach & Mobilization:
- Identify potential students for placement-linked skill development programs in collaboration with community leaders, educational institutions, and local networks.
- Organize and conduct outreach activities such as awareness campaigns, door-to-door visits, and community meetings to promote the program and recruit students.
- Ensure a diverse, inclusive representation of students from different backgrounds, ensuring the program reaches marginalized or underserved communities.
- Program Promotion:
- Promote the importance of skill development and employment opportunities among students, parents, and communities through workshops, sessions, and one-on-one meetings.
- Distribute program-related materials, brochures, and other resources to spread awareness.
- Student Engagement:
- Guide students through the registration and orientation process, ensuring they understand the program’s benefits, goals, and expected outcomes.
- Support students in completing necessary documentation and pre-enrollment assessments.
- Serve as the first point of contact for student inquiries and issues, providing regular updates on training schedules, progress, and placement opportunities.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and progress.
- Follow up with students throughout the duration of the training program to ensure consistent participation and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Provide regular feedback to the Program Coordinator about student progress, challenges faced, and any support needed.
- Help in tracking post-training placement outcomes, ensuring a smooth transition for students into employment.
- Building Partnerships:
- Collaborate with local schools, colleges, community centers, and other youth organizations to identify and recruit students.
- Foster relationships with employers, local businesses, and training partners to ensure placement opportunities for students.
- Community Engagement:
- Actively engage with community stakeholders (e.g., parents, local leaders, educational institutions) to promote the program and ensure community support.
- Build trust and rapport with students and their families, addressing concerns and encouraging continued participation.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development or any relevant field. (Preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in community mobilization, student outreach, or similar roles. Experience working with youth, marginalized communities, or NGOs is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with diverse groups.
- Familiarity with placement-linked skill development programs is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data management skills.
- Personal Attributes:

- High levels of empathy and patience when working with students and their families.
- Proactive and self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to speak multiple local languages.

- Previous experience with NGOs focused on education or skill development.
Working Conditions:
- Will require travel within the designated community areas.
- Flexible working hours may be needed to accommodate community events and outreach activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
