Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and creative Pastry Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our pastry team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and baked goods while maintaining consistency, food safety, and hygiene standards. The CDP will support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and bakery items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO).
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Assist in developing new dessert menus and seasonal specials.
- Train and guide Commis Chefs and junior team members.
- Minimize food wastage and control costs.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Pastry CDP or Demi Chef de Partie in a hotel, restaurant, bakery, or café.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, chocolate work, and dessert plating.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with artisanal breads, viennoiserie, or premium desserts is an advantage.
- Basic inventory and cost-control knowledge.
