Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Stationary Crane Operator to operate overhead/EOT/Gantry cranes for handling raw materials, finished particle boards, and production materials within the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should ensure safe material movement, proper stacking, and uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate stationary overhead/EOT/Gantry crane safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, lift, and transport particle boards, wood chips, logs, and raw materials.
- Supply materials to production lines as per production requirements.
- Stack finished boards in designated storage areas without damage.
- Inspect crane equipment before each shift and report any defects immediately.
- Follow all safety procedures, operating instructions, and company policies.
- Coordinate with Production, Dispatch, and Warehouse teams for smooth material handling.
- Maintain cleanliness around the crane operating area.
- Ensure proper lifting techniques and avoid overloading the crane.
- Record daily crane operation and maintenance checks in logbooks.
- Assist maintenance personnel during crane servicing when required.
- Report accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10th Pass / ITI preferred.
- Valid Crane Operator Certificate/License (if required by state regulations).
- 2–5 years of experience operating stationary cranes in a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in particle board, plywood, MDF, laminate, or wood industries is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of overhead/EOT/Gantry crane operations.
- Understanding of safe lifting practices and load capacity.
- Good hand-eye coordination and concentration.
- Ability to communicate with ground personnel using standard hand signals.
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance checks.
- Ability to work in shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Good vision and depth perception.
- Ability to work in a dusty industrial environment.
- Physically fit to work in a manufacturing plant.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing/Production Plant.
- Rotational shifts, including night shifts if required.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and moving machinery.
Safety Responsibilities
- Always wear mandatory PPE (Helmet, Safety Shoes, Reflective Jacket, Gloves, etc.).
- Never operate the crane beyond its rated capacity.
- Ensure no personnel are under suspended loads.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance.
- Stop operations immediately if any unsafe condition is observed.
