Role Purpose:
To ensure product quality, process compliance, and customer satisfaction by strengthening quality systems, reducing defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with IATF 16949 requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Satisfaction & Quality Improvement
* Drive product and process improvements through:
* Process Audits
* Product Audits
* Reduce internal rejections through structured improvement projects.
* Monitor, track, and ensure closure of quality issues (QFx / customer complaints).
* Ensure high standards of product quality to meet customer expectations.
2. Quality Management System (QMS – IATF 16949)
* Maintain and monitor all documentation under IATF 16949 standards.
* Conduct internal system audits and ensure timely closure of:
* Non-Conformities (NCs)
* Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs)
* Manage document control including revisions and updates.
* Monitor quality data and provide feedback to production and functional heads.
* Ensure adherence to audit schedules and compliance requirements.
* Support and coordinate customer audits.
3. Customer Claims Reduction
* Ensure adherence to in-process and final inspection quality parameters.
* Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools.
* Coordinate Cross Functional Teams (CFT) for issue resolution.
* Drive horizontal deployment of corrective and preventive actions.
* Standardize defect detection and prevention systems across processes.
4. Process Yield Improvement & New Product Development
* Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance process yield.
* Strengthen line quality controls and defect prevention mechanisms.
* Reduce rework and reprocess through robust quality systems.
* Actively contribute to New Product Development (NPD) activities:
* FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
* PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
* SPC (Statistical Process Control) implementation
* Coordinate with testing agencies for ARAI approvals and homologation.
* Ensure calibration of measuring instruments as per standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards and systems
* Hands-on experience in:
* Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
* SPC, FMEA, PPAP
* Process & Product Audits
* Data analysis and problem-solving skills
* Exposure to customer audits and quality compliance
* Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills
* Proficiency in MS Office and quality tools
Experience Required
* 3–7 years of experience in automotive or auto-component manufacturing
* Proven experience in quality assurance, audits, and process improvement
* Exposure to customer complaint handling and resolution
