We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant who can accurately analyze, control, and optimize project costs to support profitable business growth.
Role Overview
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs associated with events, projects, vendors, materials, and operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, profitability tracking, and MIS reporting.
This role requires a professional who can study project costs in detail, identify cost-saving opportunities, maintain financial accuracy, and provide management with actionable insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities1. Cost Analysis & Cost Control
- Prepare detailed cost sheets for events and projects.
- Analyze actual costs versus budgeted costs.
- Monitor project profitability and margins.
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct detailed cost studies for events, production, logistics, and vendor expenses.
- Develop systems for cost optimization and expense control.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in project budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare cost estimates for upcoming projects and events.
- Support management in financial planning and decision-making.
- Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure adherence to approved budgets.
3. Event & Project Costing
- Calculate event-wise and project-wise costing.
- Track décor, production, logistics, hospitality, manpower, and operational costs.
- Maintain detailed profitability reports for each project.
- Analyze revenue versus expense performance.
- Support sales and client servicing teams with costing inputs during proposal preparation.
4. Vendor Cost Management
- Review vendor quotations and comparative statements.
- Evaluate vendor pricing structures.
- Track purchase costs and procurement expenses.
- Assist in vendor negotiations through cost analysis.
- Maintain records of vendor rates and historical costing data.
5. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and project-wise MIS reports.
- Generate cost analysis reports for management review.
- Present profitability reports and financial insights.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Develop dashboards and reports for cost monitoring.
6. Inventory & Resource Cost Tracking
- Monitor inventory utilization and costing.
- Track material consumption and wastage.
- Analyze resource allocation costs.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.
7. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies.
- Maintain accurate costing documentation and audit trails.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure financial data accuracy and reliability.

Education & ExperienceEducation

- CMA (Cost & Management Accountant) Qualified / Semi-Qualified preferred.
- CA Inter / M.Com candidates with strong costing experience may also apply.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Project Costing.
- Experience in Event Management, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Construction, Production, or Project-Based Industries preferred.
- Strong exposure to budgeting, costing, and profitability analysis.
