We are looking for a young and passionate Executive Pastry Chef to help build and lead this bakery from the ground up.
Position Overview
The Executive Pastry Chef & Bakery Innovation Lead will be responsible for developing our bakery vision, creating signature products, establishing operational excellence, and building a high-performing team.
This role is ideal for someone who combines creativity with technical expertise and is equally comfortable crafting a croissant, developing a sourdough program, training a team, or launching an entirely new product line.
Key Responsibilities: Product Development & Innovation
- Develop and refine a portfolio of artisan breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, desserts, and seasonal offerings.
- Create signature products unique to our brand.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in baking and pastry while maintaining timeless quality standards.
- Lead recipe development, testing, and product launches.
Bakery Operations
- Establish production workflows, baking schedules, and quality standards.
- Create standardized recipes and operating procedures.
- Oversee inventory planning and ingredient sourcing.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and consistency.
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor bakers, pastry chefs, and bakery associates.
- Build a culture of craftsmanship, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
- Develop training materials and operational manuals.
Quality & Customer Experience
- Ensure every product meets exceptional standards for flavor, texture, appearance, and freshness.
- Continuously evaluate and improve bakery offerings based on customer feedback and performance.
- Collaborate with leadership on merchandising, seasonal programs, and special product launches.
Business & Strategic Planning
- Monitor food costs, margins, and production efficiency.
- Support pricing and assortment decisions.
- Help scale bakery operations as the company grows.
Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of professional bakery and pastry experience.
- Strong expertise in both artisan breads and pastry production.
- Experience leading bakery teams and managing production environments.
- Deep understanding of fermentation, dough science, baking techniques, and pastry fundamentals.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred
- Experience opening or scaling a bakery concept.
- Formal culinary or pastry education.
- Experience in premium retail food, artisan bakeries, hospitality, or specialty food businesses.
- Knowledge of international baking styles and techniques.
