Job Summary
GENIMART is looking for an experienced and creative Costume Designer to join our team in Tiruppur. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in garment and costume designing, excellent knowledge of fabrics, colours, styling, and current fashion trends, along with the ability to develop commercially appealing designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new costumes and garment collections based on market trends and customer requirements.
- Create innovative designs, sketches, concepts, and styling ideas.
- Select suitable fabrics, colours, prints, trims, embellishments, and accessories.
- Work closely with garment merchandisers, sourcing, production, and sampling teams.
- Develop design concepts from initial idea through sampling and final production.
- Research current fashion and costume trends in the market.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for fabric and accessory requirements.
- Review samples and suggest necessary improvements in fit, styling, colour, and finishing.
- Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and production requirements.
- Maintain awareness of new fabrics, techniques, and fashion trends.
- Support the team in developing seasonal and new product collections.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in Costume Designing / Fashion Designing / Garment Designing.
- Strong knowledge of garments, fabrics, patterns, colours, and styling.
- Good understanding of garment construction and production processes.
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to develop unique and commercially viable designs.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple designs/projects.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Candidates currently based in or willing to relocate to Tiruppur are preferred.
