The Steward is responsible for providing excellent customer service by ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience. The role includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, coordinating with the kitchen, and ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering to the company's service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
- Welcome and greet guests with a warm and courteous attitude.
- Escort guests to their tables, if required.
- Present menus and explain menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Ensure guests are attended to throughout their dining experience.
- Handle guest requests and complaints politely and escalate concerns to the Captain or Restaurant Manager when required.
Order Management
- Ensure orders are entered accurately into the POS system.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely service.
- Verify that food served matches the guest's order.
- Serve food as per the company's SOPs and service sequence.
Table & Restaurant Maintenance
- Set up tables before service.
- Clear used crockery, cutlery, and glassware promptly.
- Reset tables for the next guests.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, service stations, and pantry.
- Ensure all service equipment is clean and in good condition.
Guest Experience
- Build a positive rapport with guests.
- Upsell food, beverages, desserts, and promotional items.
- Ensure guest satisfaction before they leave the restaurant.
- Collect guest feedback and share it with the Restaurant Manager.
Hygiene & Safety
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards.
- Practice safe handling of food and beverages.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
Team Coordination
- Work closely with Captains, Restaurant Managers, Kitchen staff, and Bartenders.
- Support team members during peak hours.
- Attend daily briefings and training sessions.
- Assist in smooth restaurant operations.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
