Job Title: IT Support Engineer for Filter Manufacturing
Overview: As an IT Support Engineer for Filter Manufacturing, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the information technology infrastructure within a filter manufacturing environment. Your role will involve ensuring seamless operations of IT systems and providing technical support to employees, particularly focusing on manufacturing-specific software and hardware used in the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Maintenance and Administration:
· Install, configure, and maintain IT systems including servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
· Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise to minimize downtime.
2. Manufacturing Software Support:
· Provide technical support for manufacturing-specific software used in the production process, such as quality control systems, inventory management software, and production scheduling tools.
· Collaborate with software vendors to resolve issues and implement updates or customizations as necessary.
· Train employees on the use of manufacturing software to ensure efficient operations.
3. Hardware Support:
· Troubleshoot and repair hardware components used in the manufacturing environment, including industrial computers, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and machinery interfaces.
· Coordinate with equipment vendors for maintenance and repair services as needed.
4. Data Security and Backup:
· Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information and intellectual property.
· Establish backup and recovery procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of critical manufacturing data.
5. User Support:
· Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to end-users for hardware and software issues.
· Respond to helpdesk tickets and prioritize support requests based on urgency and impact on production operations.
· Conduct user training sessions to enhance IT literacy and productivity among manufacturing staff.
6. Process Improvement:
· Identify opportunities to streamline IT processes and improve efficiency within the manufacturing environment.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology solutions that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
· Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative IT solutions.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Previous experience in IT support roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, with a focus on manufacturing-specific systems.
· Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
· Familiarity with industrial automation systems and PLC programming is a plus.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT issues.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) are desirable.
