Job Summary
The Bank Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the Patsanstha (Credit Cooperative Society), ensuring business growth, regulatory compliance, loan portfolio management, deposit mobilization, customer service excellence, and effective branch administration. The role requires strong leadership, financial management, and relationship-building skills to achieve organizational objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Increase deposits, savings, and membership of the Patsanstha.
- Develop strategies for business growth and profitability.
- Promote loan products and other financial services.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, members, local businesses, and community leaders.
Branch Operations
- Manage day-to-day branch operations efficiently.
- Ensure smooth functioning of cash, accounts, and customer service activities.
- Monitor operational risks and implement control measures.
- Maintain branch records and documentation accurately.
Loan & Credit Management
- Evaluate and approve loan proposals within delegated authority.
- Monitor loan disbursements and recoveries.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and reduce NPAs.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance in all lending activities.
Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with Cooperative Department regulations, banking guidelines, and internal policies.
- Coordinate audits and inspections.
- Implement recommendations from auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain statutory registers and reports.
Team Management
- Supervise and guide branch staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training.
- Allocate duties and ensure productivity.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment.
Financial Management
- Monitor branch profitability and financial performance.
- Prepare and review financial reports.
- Manage budgets and control operational expenses.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation processes.
Customer Relationship Management
- Address customer grievances effectively.
- Ensure high standards of customer service.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- Promote financial awareness among members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA/PGDBM in Finance or Banking preferred.
- Knowledge of Cooperative Society regulations and banking operations.
Experience
- 1-5 years of experience in banking, cooperative banking, or financial institutions.
