About CPHS
The Consumer Pyramids Household Survey (CPHS) is India’s largest continuous household survey, covering over 232,000 households and more than 1 million individuals. The survey collects data related to employment, income, health, consumption, demographics, financial inclusion, and household well-being.
Role Overview
The Field Information Officer (FIO) plays a key supervisory and managerial role in the execution of CPHS surveys. The FIO is responsible for recruiting, training, managing, and monitoring Field Team Members (FTMs) while ensuring high-quality data collection and timely survey completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions and develop survey execution skills.
- Recruit and manage a team of Field Team Members (FTMs).
- Conduct training and refresher sessions for survey staff.
- Translate survey manuals and instructions into local languages/dialects when required.
- Plan and execute surveys according to CMIE schedules and standards.
- Monitor and validate the quality of data collected by FTMs.
- Conduct field visits and follow-up calls with households.
- Prepare regular reports on field operations and survey progress.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned survey activities.
- Build strong relationships with surveyed households through communication and regular engagement.
- Motivate and guide team members to achieve quality targets.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Economics, Social Sciences, Commerce, or related fields.
- Candidates from any discipline with relevant experience and strong skills may also apply.
- Good communication skills in English and local languages/dialects.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Basic computer and Android phone knowledge.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
- Ability to recruit and manage survey teams.
- Quality-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
