Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Manager to oversee daily floor operations at our Abaya manufacturing unit in Perinthalmanna. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end production management—from raw fabric cutting to stitching, finishing, and quality control.
A critical requirement for this role is strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills, as the candidate must effectively manage and coordinate a workforce primarily composed of workers from North India.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Floor Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee daily manufacturing tasks (cutting, stitching, embroidery, iron/pressing, and packaging) to hit daily targets.
- Workforce Coordination: Direct and supervise production staff and tailors. Communicate work instructions clearly and maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Hindi Language Communication: Maintain daily operational communication in Hindi to lead and resolve issues with North Indian workers seamlessly.
- Quality Control: Ensure all finished abayas meet design specifications, stitching standard, fabric finish, and quality guidelines before packing.
- Material & Inventory Tracking: Monitor usage of fabrics, threads, zippers, lace, and embellishments to minimize wastage and track stock levels.
- Efficiency & Delivery Schedules: Ensure orders are produced according to client specifications and dispatched within promised deadlines.
- Machine & Facility Maintenance: Ensure sewing machines, cutting machinery, and iron setups are maintained and functioning properly.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of supervisory or production management experience in garment manufacturing, textile units, or apparel workshops (Abaya/Pardha manufacturing experience is highly preferred).
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Hindi is mandatory (spoken fluency to manage North Indian staff). Fluency in Malayalam is required for local coordination.
- Leadership Skills: Strong team handling capability, crisis management skills, and punctuality.
- Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; specialized training in garment technology or diploma in fashion/tailoring is a plus.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
