HVAC Design Engineer (2-5 years)

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineer with up to 5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HVAC design, analysis, duct sizing pressure balancing and project execution, along with proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as Energy Pro, HAP, or similar. A solid understanding of ASHRAE standards and/or California Title 24 energy codes is required.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop HVAC systems, including load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.

Conduct energy modeling and performance simulations using tools such as Energy Pro, similar software.

Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE standards, California Title 24 energy codes, and other relevant regulations.

Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to coordinate HVAC systems with overall project designs.

Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.

Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability in system designs.

Candidate requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in HVAC design.

Proficiency in Energy Pro, or comparable HVAC software tools.

Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and/or California Title 24 energy codes.

Strong understanding of HVAC system principles, energy modeling, and building performance analysis.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
