A Continental Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting continental dishes while maintaining quality, consistency, hygiene, and food safety standards. The chef ensures smooth kitchen operations and delivers an excellent dining experience for customers.
Roles & Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook a variety of continental dishes such as pasta, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, grilled items, salads, soups, and sauces.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Follow standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
Menu Development
- Assist in developing new continental menu items.
- Suggest seasonal specials and innovative dishes.
- Improve existing recipes based on customer feedback.
Kitchen Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and prepared food.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Coordinate with the purchase/store team for replenishment.
- Minimize food wastage and control costs.
Team Coordination
- Work closely with kitchen staff and service teams.
- Assist and guide Commis Chefs and kitchen helpers.
- Ensure timely preparation and service during peak hours.
Quality Control
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Maintain presentation standards for all dishes.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent food quality.
Qualification
- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in a continental kitchen, café, restaurant, or hotel.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of continental cuisine
- Sauce and pasta preparation skills
- Food presentation and plating techniques
- Time management and multitasking
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Team leadership and communication skills
Pay: ₹18,716.36 - ₹34,162.39 per month
