Role Summary
We are seeking a Lead Mobile Developer (iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin, or Cross-Platform Flutter/React Native with Native Modules) to build our companion wearable app. You will own the connection between the OEM hardware device and our mobile app, leveraging a vendor SDK to ensure seamless, passive Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) background data syncing and constructing responsive health dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
-
SDK & BLE Integration: Integrate the vendor’s hardware SDK to handle device pairing, connection management, raw data streaming, and over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.
-
Background Data Ingestion: Architect robust background processes (CoreBluetooth on iOS, Foreground Services on Android) to reliably pull data packets from the device without forcing the user to manually open the app.
-
Local Storage & Caching: Build local SQLite/Realm database structures to buffer sensor data offline and upload it efficiently once a network connection is established.
-
Data Visualization: Implement smooth, responsive UI dashboards for complex biometrics (e.g., circular strain gauges, sleep architecture graphs, and recovery trends).
-
Power & Performance Tuning: Optimize app performance to minimize both phone and hardware battery drain during continuous background sync.
Required Technical Stack & Qualifications
-
Experience: 4+ years of mobile application development experience, with a track record of shipping production apps.
-
BLE Expertise: Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy protocols (GATT services, characteristics, connection parameters, packet loss handling).
-
Languages: Native Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android) (or deep native bridging experience in Flutter/React Native).
-
API & Data: Experience with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, offline-first architectures, and local time-series caching.
Preferred Experience
-
Prior experience building companion apps for IoT, health trackers, or medical hardware.
-
Experience working with Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect.
