About the role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – HR (Statutory Compliance & Operations) to manage statutory compliance, HR operations, reporting, audits, and coordination with internal stakeholders. The candidate should possess strong working knowledge of PF, ESIC, payroll inputs, statutory documentation, and HR compliance processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage PF and ESIC calculations, registrations, UAN/IP creation, monthly challans, and statutory filings.
- Handle employee queries related to PF withdrawals, transfers, KYC updates, and ESIC benefits.
- Coordinate with government authorities, compliance consultants, and other external agencies.
- Maintain statutory registers, challans, receipts, employee records, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor statutory compliance deadlines and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Support payroll processing by verifying attendance, leave records, salary inputs, and statutory deductions.
- Prepare monthly HR, compliance, payroll, and management reports.
- Manage and support internal audits and provide the required documents, records, and clarifications.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, department heads, employees, finance teams, and management.
- Assist with employee onboarding, documentation, background verification, and issuance of HR letters.
- Maintain proper records for inspections, assessments, audits, and management reviews.
- Draft professional emails, HR letters, presentations, reports, and internal communications.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of employee and organizational information.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in statutory compliance and HR operations.
- Strong working knowledge of the EPF & MP Act, 1952, ESI Act, 1948, and applicable labour-related compliance requirements.
- Good understanding of payroll inputs, attendance, leave management, and HR documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly:
- MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, and report preparation
- MS Word for letters and documentation
- MS PowerPoint for presentations and management updates
- Experience in preparing monthly MIS and compliance reports.
- Exposure to internal audits and coordination with auditors.
- Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet statutory deadlines.
