Job Description – Carpenter (Interior Works)

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter to execute carpentry and interior fit-out works at residential and commercial project sites. The candidate will be responsible for accurate measurement, cutting, fabrication, assembly, installation and finishing of wooden and plywood-based works as per approved drawings, specifications and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all carpentry works as per approved drawings, BOQ, measurements and site instructions.
- Read and understand basic architectural/interior drawings and dimensions.
- Take accurate site measurements and mark layouts before starting work.
- Cut, shape, assemble and install plywood, MDF, blockboard, timber and other carpentry materials.
- Fabricate and install:
- Modular furniture
- Wardrobes
- Kitchen cabinets
- Storage units
- TV units
- Wall panelling
- Partitions
- Doors and shutters
- Counters
- Shelves and cabinets
- Ceiling/wooden framing where required
- Install hardware such as hinges, channels, handles, locks, brackets and other fittings.
- Carry out laminate, veneer and other carpentry finishing-related works as required.
- Ensure proper alignment, level, plumb, joints, gaps and overall finishing.
- Coordinate with Site Supervisor, Project Manager, electricians, plumbers, HVAC and other trades.
- Identify material defects, measurement issues or drawing discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Minimize material wastage and use materials efficiently.
- Maintain tools, machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping at the work area.
- Follow all site safety rules and use appropriate PPE.
- Complete assigned work within the planned schedule and quality standards.
- Attend rectification and snagging works whenever required.
- Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor / Project Manager and maintain discipline at the project site.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of interior carpentry and furniture installation.
- Good knowledge of plywood, MDF, blockboard, laminate, veneer and timber.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools such as circular saw, jigsaw, drill machine, router, grinder and other carpentry equipment.
- Ability to take accurate measurements using measuring tape, spirit level, square and other tools.
- Basic ability to read drawings and understand dimensions.
- Good knowledge of furniture assembly and installation.
- Good finishing and workmanship skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Good time management and discipline.
- Attention to detail and quality.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: 8th / 10th pass or ITI Carpenter preferred.
- Experience: 1–5 years in interior carpentry / furniture / modular work preferred.
- Candidates with strong practical experience may also be considered without formal qualification.
Performance Expectations
- Work should be completed according to approved drawings and dimensions.
- Maintain good quality, alignment and finishing.
- Complete assigned work within the target timeline.
- Minimize material wastage and rework.
- Maintain proper site discipline and safety.
- Coordinate effectively with the site team.
- Ensure zero avoidable damage to finished surfaces and materials.
Working Conditions
- Work will primarily be at residential and commercial interior project sites.
- Candidate should be willing to travel to different project locations in Mumbai and surrounding areas.
- Overtime may be required depending on project deadlines.
- Must follow company and client site safety and conduct requirements.
Preferred Candidate
A candidate with strong hands-on interior carpentry experience, good finishing skills, knowledge of modular furniture and the ability to work from drawings and measurements will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
