JHATPAT is a fast-growing local super app serving Motihari with groceries, food, parcels, rides, and home services — all delivered quickly and efficiently. As we scale operations, we are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant who can manage financial records while also handling day-to-day cashier operations.
Role Overview
The Accountant & Cashier will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in Marg ERP software, managing daily cash transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong accounting fundamentals and high integrity.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Ledger Management (Marg Software)
- Maintain and update purchase, sales, and expense ledgers in Marg ERP.
- Record daily transactions including cash, UPI, bank, and credit entries.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly ledger reconciliation.
- Maintain stock and inventory accounting entries in Marg.
- Prepare GST reports and support filing compliance.
- Generate financial reports (P&L, cash flow, outstanding reports).
- Coordinate with CA for statutory compliance and audits.
2. Cashier Responsibilities
- Handle daily cash collections from store operations.
- Manage UPI, POS, and online payment reconciliation.
- Maintain cash register and ensure accurate billing.
- Perform daily cash closing and submit reports to management.
- Ensure zero cash discrepancies and maintain transaction logs.
- Assist customers with billing-related queries.
3. Controls & Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation of invoices and vouchers.
- Maintain petty cash and vendor payment records.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with vendors/customers.
- Ensure internal financial controls are followed at store level.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting and cashier roles.
- Hands-on experience with Marg ERP software (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of GST and basic taxation.
- Good knowledge of Tally or other accounting tools (added advantage).
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic Excel skills.
- High integrity and trustworthiness.
