Job Purpose
The Maintenance & Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, safety, and upkeep of school infrastructure, buildings, utilities, equipment, and campus facilities. The role focuses on providing a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors while ensuring compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Building Maintenance
- Plan, supervise, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities for school buildings and infrastructure.
- Ensure timely repair and maintenance of civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, and utility systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, laboratories, hostels, offices, playgrounds, and common areas.
- Maintain records of maintenance schedules, breakdowns, and repairs.
Facilities Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation and upkeep of campus facilities.
- Ensure uninterrupted functioning of utilities including electricity, water supply, DG sets, pumps, and air-conditioning systems.
- Monitor housekeeping, gardening, pest control, and waste management services.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for facility-related services.
Project Management
- Supervise renovation, refurbishment, and infrastructure development projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Monitor project quality, timelines, and budgets.
- Verify contractor bills and work completion reports.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Maintain firefighting equipment and emergency preparedness systems.
- Support implementation of workplace health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Identify and evaluate vendors and contractors.
- Obtain quotations and support procurement processes.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure service-level compliance.
- Maintain annual maintenance contracts (AMCs) and service agreements.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Assist in preparing annual maintenance and facility budgets.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Maintain asset registers and maintenance records.
- Submit periodic reports on maintenance activities, projects, and facility performance.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
