Assistant Restaurant Manager
Job Summary
The Whispering Woods is seeking an experienced and hands-on Restaurant Operations Manager to lead, streamline, and optimize all restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), improving service quality, increasing operational efficiency, controlling costs, enhancing guest experiences, and building a high-performing restaurant team.
This role requires a strong operational leader who can establish structure, accountability, consistency, and best practices across all aspects of restaurant operations while ensuring profitability and exceptional guest satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management & Standardization
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all restaurant operations.
- Establish service standards, workflow processes, and operational guidelines to ensure consistency.
- Create systems and processes for front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen, service, housekeeping, stores, and management teams.
- Develop operational checklists, opening and closing procedures, and shift management systems.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with SOPs and service standards.
Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop restaurant staff.
- Establish performance standards and accountability measures.
- Conduct regular training sessions on service excellence, guest handling, upselling, and SOP compliance.
- Develop training manuals and onboarding processes for new employees.
- Monitor staff performance and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Build a positive and high-performance work culture.
Guest Experience Management
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and service delivery.
- Develop guest service protocols and complaint resolution processes.
- Monitor guest feedback and online reviews and implement improvement strategies.
- Handle escalated guest concerns professionally.
- Ensure all guests receive a consistent and memorable dining experience.
Revenue Growth & Profitability
- Drive restaurant sales and revenue growth.
- Develop and implement upselling and cross-selling strategies.
- Improve average order value and guest spending.
- Monitor restaurant KPIs including covers, average spend, table turnover, food cost, and profitability.
- Work closely with management to create promotions, packages, and special events.
- Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency and profitability.
Inventory, Cost Control & Procurement
- Establish inventory management systems and controls.
- Monitor food costs, beverage costs, and operational expenses.
- Conduct regular stock audits and inventory reconciliations.
- Reduce wastage, pilferage, and unnecessary expenses.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and storage procedures.
Financial & Business Management
- Monitor daily sales, collections, and cash handling procedures.
- Prepare operational and financial reports.
- Analyze restaurant performance and recommend improvement strategies.
- Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning.
- Ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
Hygiene, Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Implement cleanliness and sanitation protocols across all areas.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular quality audits and operational inspections.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in restaurant, hotel, resort, or hospitality operations.
- Proven experience in developing SOPs and standardizing restaurant operations.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant management, service standards, and operational controls.
- Experience in team building, staff training, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, food costing, and profitability.
- Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable staying at the property, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in resort, luxury hospitality, premium dining, or multi-outlet operations.
- Experience in restaurant pre-opening, restructuring, or operational turnaround projects.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory software, and operational reporting tools.

Salary
As per industry standards and candidate experience.
Pay: ₹26,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
