# Injection Moulding Tool Designer – Job Description An Injection Moulding Tool Designer is responsible for designing and developing plastic injection moulds according to customer requirements, component drawings, and manufacturing standards. The role involves preparing 2D and 3D mould designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, CATIA, UG NX, SolidWorks, or Creo, and designing mould components including core, cavity, inserts, sliders, lifters, ejector systems, cooling channels, runners, guide pillars, and bushes. The designer should have good knowledge of DFM, parting line, draft angle, shrinkage, gating, cooling, venting, ejection systems, mould materials, and standard mould components. Responsibilities include studying component drawings, preparing assembly and detailed component drawings, BOMs, conducting design reviews, identifying potential manufacturing issues, supporting mould trials such as T0, T1, and T2, and making necessary design modifications based on trial results. The role also requires close coordination with the tool room, production, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure timely completion of tools with the required quality, dimensional accuracy, cycle time, and functionality. Candidates should have a Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering, or a related field, along with strong CAD skills, engineering drawing knowledge, problem-solving ability, and practical experience in injection mould design and tooling.
