Job Description:
What you'll own
You are the creative engine for the company. If it's visual and it carries the Lingotran name, it likely runs through you:
- Marketing & brand assets: social creative, banners, posters, one-pagers, sales collateral, pitch decks, event material
- Web: landing pages and marketing-site design (working with whoever builds it), from wireframe to polished visuals
- Motion & video: short product explainers, demo edits, social videos, animated snippets
- Illustration & iconography: original illustration and a visual language that makes a practice product feel warm, not clinical
- Brand stewardship: evolving and protecting the identity, type, colour, and layout system, as we grow
The part that actually matters
We're not hiring a pair of hands. We're hiring judgment. On any brief, we need you to:
- Bring the idea, not just the execution. When marketing says "we need something for the Bonjour Battle contest," we want you asking the sharper questions and proposing the concept, not waiting for a fully-specified spec.
- Understand who it's for. A poster for a school principal, a reel for a parent, and a worksheet for a Class 8 student are three different jobs. You get the audience before you open the canvas.
- Read the market. You keep an eye on how the category and competitors show up, and you push our work to be sharper than theirs.
- Use AI to move faster. Beyond designing, we want someone who can build lightweight systems and AI-assisted workflows to auto-generate the simple, repetitive assets (social variants, resizes, quick templates) so human time goes to the work that actually needs taste. Not to replace the crucial creative, to clear the runway for it.
- Move fast and learn faster. We're early and unfunded. Priorities shift, briefs are half-formed, and turnaround is real. You're comfortable shipping a strong v1, then iterating, rather than polishing in a vacuum.
How you'll work
You'll work across the whole company: with marketing and content on campaigns and assets, with sales on decks and collateral that help close schools and partners, and directly with the founders on brand direction and anything high-stakes. When a brief comes in half-formed, you're comfortable helping shape it into a clear one. You'll present your thinking, take feedback well, and defend a choice when it's the right one.
What we're looking for
- 2 to 5 years designing across brand, marketing, and digital, ideally in a startup, agency, or fast-moving in-house team
- A portfolio that shows range (print, digital, and either motion or illustration) and, more importantly, shows thinking: the problem, your idea, the outcome
- Strong command of the core toolkit (Figma plus the Adobe/Canva ecosystem; motion tools like After Effects or equivalent a real plus)
- The instinct to propose concepts and directions, not just execute handed-down layouts
- Clear communicator who can work across teams and take a brief from vague to shipped
- Self-directed: you can own the creative function largely on your own at this stage
Nice to have
- Edtech or education-sector experience (a real plus; you'll ramp faster on our audiences and outcomes-led messaging)
- Motion/video editing depth, or illustration as a genuine spike
- Hands-on with AI design and automation tools (generative image/video, or workflow builders) to speed up simple, repeatable work
- Basic comfort with web (HTML/CSS awareness, or hands-on with Webflow/Framer)
- Any exposure to designing for both Indian and international audiences
Who thrives here
Someone who's energised, not stressed, by ambiguity. Who'd rather own the whole creative surface of a young company than be one cog in a big design team. Who treats "we've never done this before" as the fun part.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Health insurance
