Senior PostgreSQL Developer & DBA (4–5 Years Experience)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a PostgreSQL Developer & DBA responsible for database development, performance optimization, database administration, and reliability of our enterprise applications. The role involves both development and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PostgreSQL database schemas
- Write optimized SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures
- Analyze and improve slow queries
- Design indexes and optimize database performance
- Manage database backups and restoration
- Monitor database health and performance
- Handle locking, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks
- Implement database security and access control
- Work with application developers (.NET team) for query optimization
- Manage large datasets and database maintenance activities
- Configure replication and high availability (if required)
Required Skills:
- 4–5 years experience in PostgreSQL
- Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions)
- Experience in query optimization and performance tuning
- Experience with PL/pgSQL functions and stored procedures
- Experience with backup and restore
- Experience in Linux environment
- Understanding of indexing strategies
- Experience handling databases > 100GB
- Experience with PostgreSQL partitioning
Good to Have:
- Experience with streaming replication
- Experience with PgBouncer
- Experience with JSONB and large datasets
- Experience with pgvector / AI related workloads
Education:
- Any Engineering / MSc / MCA / Equivalent practical experience
- Candidates from startup or product companies preferred
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
