Job Title: Biomedical Engineer
Job Summary:
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation. The role involves coordinating with clinical departments, vendors, and regulatory authorities to maintain high standards of patient care and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing, warranty claims, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)/Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC).
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and service history.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct equipment performance testing and calibration.
- Train hospital staff on the safe and proper use of medical equipment.
- Monitor equipment inventory and recommend replacement or procurement when required.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new medical equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service requests.
- Prepare maintenance reports and submit them to the reporting manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering.
- 1–5 years of experience in hospital biomedical engineering (Freshers may be considered for junior roles).
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of biomedical equipment and hospital systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance and calibration procedures.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and maintenance management systems.
Preferred Experience:
Experience handling equipment such as:
- Patient Monitors
- Ventilators
- ECG Machines
- Defibrillators
- Infusion & Syringe Pumps
- Anesthesia Workstations
- OT Equipment
- ICU Equipment
- Laboratory Equipment
- Radiology Equipment (preferred)
Pay: ₹10,921.60 - ₹30,000.00 per month
