Job Summary
We are seeking a Stores Incharge to oversee inventory management, material handling, and stockroom operations at our metal fabrication facility. Because our plant operates under an Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), the ideal candidate must have a solid background in material traceability, hazardous material handling, safety protocol enforcement, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Traceability & Receipt: Receive incoming raw materials (steel plates, structural sections, welding consumables, hardware), verify against Purchase Orders and Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), and ensure heat/batch numbers are properly tagged.
- IMS & ISO Compliance: Maintain store records, material safety data sheets (MSDS/SDS), and logs strictly in accordance with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (OH&S) standards.
- Storage & Safety Management: Ensure proper segregation, storage, and labeling of raw stock, finished parts, scrap, and hazardous materials (gas cylinders, solvents, paints). Enforce safe material handling practices (overhead crane, forklift).
- Inventory Control : Conduct regular physical stock counts, reconcile inventory with logbook data, maintain minimum reorder levels, and minimize stock discrepancies or material damage.
- Issue & Dispatch: Issue raw stock and consumables to the fabrication shop floor against approved Job Cards/Material Requisitions. Prepare outgoing shipments and dispatch documentation.
- Audit Readiness: Keep store premises clean, organized (5S standards), and fully compliant for internal and external IMS audits.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 6+ years as a Stores Incharge or Senior Storekeeper in a metal fabrication, heavy engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- IMS Knowledge: Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 store-level compliance requirements.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with metal shop materials (steel grades, welding wires, fasteners, industrial gases), MTC verification, and ERP/Inventory software.
- Safety & Equipment: Knowledge of OSHA/ISO 45001 store safety protocols; hands-on experience or oversight of forklift/crane operations.
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Material Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
