Reconciliation Specialist – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Reconciliation
- Perform end-to-end reconciliation of bank accounts, payment gateways, and internal financial systems on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Ensure accuracy between ledger balances and external statements.
2. Transaction Validation
- Review and validate high-volume financial transactions to ensure completeness and correctness.
- Monitor unmatched, failed, or pending transactions and take corrective actions.
3. Discrepancy Identification & Resolution
- Investigate and analyze discrepancies, variances, and exceptions in financial data.
- Coordinate with banks, payment partners, and internal teams to resolve issues within defined timelines.
4. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare reconciliation reports, variance analysis, and MIS dashboards for management review.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit trails and compliance requirements.
5. Compliance & Audit Handling
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory standards.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate data and explanations.
6. Process Improvement
- Identify gaps in reconciliation processes and recommend automation or efficiency improvements.
- Work on reducing manual intervention and improving turnaround time.
7. System Handling
- Utilize ERP systems, reconciliation tools, and advanced Excel functions for data analysis.
- Ensure data integrity across financial platforms.
8. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Operations, MIS, and IT.
- Communicate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution with all stakeholders.
