About the team and the role:
TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.
As a Software Engineer III, you will help design, build, and maintain the systems that power TCGplayer's Customer Experience (CX) platform. Your work will enable our CX agents to efficiently support both Buyers and Sellers across every aspect of TCGplayer's business. You will uplift legacy applications into a microservice-based architecture, integrate with internal systems of record and third-party platforms, and collaborate closely with other development teams to deliver a cohesive and intuitive customer support experience.
Build and deliver scalable enterprise applications and platform services for a modern CX platform by developing cloud-native APIs, event-driven systems, and microservices using C#/.NET and modern frontend technologies.
What you will accomplish:
Develop scalable backend services and APIs using C#/.NET 6/7/8.
Build enterprise-grade applications and microservices supporting customer experience workflows.
Design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
Develop and maintain React.js/Vue.js based user interfaces and integrations.
Integrate services with internal systems and third-party platforms.
Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
Ensure production readiness through logging, monitoring, testing, and CI/CD practices.
Contribute to cloud-native architecture, modernization initiatives, and platform engineering efforts.
What you will bring:
7+ years of strong experience in C#/.NET 6/7/8 (Mandatory).
Experience working on Frontend React.js/Vue.js (preferred), JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with Python is good to have.
Experience with Apache Kafka, Event-Driven Architecture, and Microservices Architecture.
Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, and Git.
Relational DB: PostgreSQL, MySQL.
NoSQL: MongoDB (good to have).
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or related field.
Experience building large-scale enterprise applications in production environments.
Experience in CX / support tools is a plus.
Understanding of cloud-native development and distributed systems is a plus
