Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Import / Export Executive with 6 months to 2 years of hands-on experience in handling international trade operations. The candidate should have practical knowledge of import and export documentation, customs procedures, freight coordination, and compliance requirements. The role involves ensuring smooth execution of shipments while maintaining adherence to applicable regulations and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:Import & Export Operations
- Coordinate and execute end-to-end import and export activities.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents such as:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading (BL)
- Air Way Bill (AWB)
- Shipping Bill
- Certificate of Origin
- Insurance Documents
- Letter of Credit (LC) documentation.
- Track shipments and ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA (Custom House Agents), shipping lines, transporters, and courier agencies.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all import/export documentation.
- Maintain records in compliance with DGFT, Customs, GST, and other regulatory requirements.
- Handle IEC-related documentation and monitor validity of trade licenses and permits.
- Assist in preparing documents required for export incentives and benefits.
Customs & Logistics Coordination
- Liaise with customs brokers for customs clearance activities.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve any logistics-related issues.
- Coordinate with warehouses and internal departments for smooth movement of goods.
- Follow up on duty payments, clearance formalities, and shipment schedules.
Banking & Trade Finance
- Coordinate with banks for LC documentation, remittances, and export realization.
- Monitor export proceeds and maintain related records.
- Assist in documentation for foreign inward/outward remittances.
Vendor & Customer Communication
- Communicate effectively with overseas suppliers, customers, and logistics partners.
- Provide shipment updates and respond to operational queries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare shipment reports and maintain import/export data.
- Update ERP systems and maintain accurate records.
- Generate periodic reports related to dispatches, costs, and pending shipments.
Eligibility Criteria:Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or any related field.
- Additional certification in Import-Export Management will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months to 2 years of hands-on experience in Import/Export operations.
- Experience in manufacturing industry import-export processes will be preferred.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and international trade documentation.
- Familiarity with Customs, DGFT, GST, and trade compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Incoterms and shipping processes.
- Experience coordinating with freight forwarders and CHA.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP systems.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
