Candidate is responsible for creating clothing, accessories, and footwear that are on-trend and appeal to consumers.
- Design: Sketching designs, using computer-aided design (CAD) programs, and creating moodboards
- Research: Studying fashion trends and keeping up with general trends in fabrics, colors, and shapes
- Selection: Choosing fabrics, embellishments, colors, or a style for each garment or accessory
- Development: Planning and developing ranges, often based on a theme
- Marketing: Showcasing designs at fashion and other trade shows, and working with models to try out designs
