The New Product Development Manager will be responsible for leading the entire product development lifecycle, from concept generation through to successful market launch and post-launch evaluation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, an innovative mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to bring new, market-leading products to fruition.
- Lead and manage the full new product development (NPD) process from ideation and concept validation to design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and commercialization.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights studies to identify new product opportunities and define product requirements.
- Develop detailed product specifications, business cases, and project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment throughout the NPD process.
- Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
- Oversee the design and development of prototypes, ensuring products meet quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations.
- Coordinate product testing and validation activities, including user acceptance testing, performance testing, and quality assurance.
- Work with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies, product positioning, pricing, and launch plans.
- Monitor product performance post-launch, gather customer feedback, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and future iterations.
- Present project updates, product strategies, and performance metrics to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform future product development initiatives.
