Equipment: Mobile Cranes, All-Terrain Cranes, Crawler Cranes, Rough-Terrain Cranes and Hydraulic Truck Cranes.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair crane electrical and electronic systems.
Diagnose faults in ECU, PLC, controllers, sensors and CAN-bus systems.
Check and repair wiring harnesses, connectors, relays, fuses and control panels.
Troubleshoot boom, winch, slewing and outrigger electrical controls.
Diagnose crane load moment indicator (LMI) / rated capacity limiter (RCL) faults.
Check sensors such as pressure, angle, length, load, temperature and proximity sensors.
Use a multimeter, diagnostic scanner and electrical testing equipment.
Troubleshoot engine electrical systems, starting and charging systems.
Diagnose communication faults between ECUs and crane controllers.
Repair cabin controls, joysticks, displays, switches and warning systems.
Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams.
Carry out preventive electrical maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Record fault findings, repairs and replaced components.
Ensure all electrical work is completed according to crane safety procedures.
Required Skills
Good knowledge of 24V/12V DC electrical systems.
Strong understanding of electrical circuits and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of CAN-bus/J1939 communication.
Experience with crane control systems and electronic sensors.
Ability to diagnose intermittent electrical faults.
Basic knowledge of hydraulics is an advantage.
Knowledge of SANY, Liebherr, Tadano, Grove or similar cranes is an advantage.
