Prototype BOM and Material control Analyst to coordinate with CFT (Engineering, Purchasing, Program Mgt, Finance and PMA) and participate in Program review meetings to ensure material orders are placed on-time to meet the Material Required Date (MRD). ERP’s used • Worldwide Engineering Releasing System (WERS) feeds the part-usage details to GPIRS. • Global Prototype Inventory Requisitioning and Scheduling (GPIRS) system for ordering prototype parts globally. • Worldwide Integrated Purchasing System (WIPS) feeds source details to GPIRS.
Prototype Engineering builds:
- Participate Program review meetings to understand the build strategy and timings
- Ensure all super long lead & long lead items are ordered as per agreed window.
• Ensure BOM validation tool is ready for Engineers to validate. Conduct overview/training session on Validation guidelines to Design Engineers and program team prior to validation. • BOM Validation- Drive on time completion of GPIRS BoM validation by Design engineers supported by the program team.
- BOM Maintenance- New added parts /deleted parts / Quantity change….Ensure accuracy and latest BOM at any given point in time.
- Complete part requisition/orders to suppliers (via GPIRS ERP) as per Engineering directions
- Participate in Part Change Notification (PCN) meeting and validate the change requirements, approve the PCN and action as per requirements.
- Review suspense list (pending sourcing action) generated from GPIRS system and follow-up with Purchasing for sourcing completion in Manufacturing builds.
- Lead Part Tracking Review (PTR) meetings post ordering completion (16 weeks through 4 weeks or as per agreed timeline with CFT to Material Required Date) of each build event.
- Participate in Build shortage meetings
Prototype Manufacturing builds:
In addition to the steps mentioned for Engineering builds, additional activities to be performed for all manufacturing prototype builds
- Perform follow up with suppliers for promise date update and get alignment from requestors for any late promises
- Coordinate with suppliers and Logistics service providers for part collections from across the globe and ensure part availability at build location.
- Prepare and publish required metrices to all stake holders and participate in Program escalation / Governance Meeting to seek support for quicker resolutions.
- Identify the process improvements opportunity and work with SMEs to implement the solutions.
Education Qualification: B.E / B. Tech
Number of Years of Experience: 3~5 Years with SCM, Logistics,
Skill & Knowledge requirement:
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Hands on experience in ERP and other material management systems.
- Skills on MS office applications (Excel, Power point)
- Knowledge about Process Automations tools (Excel Macro, Alteryx, Robotic Process Automations…)
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills and leadership potential
- Good business acumen.
- Extensive experience in MP&L / SCM systems
- Global Perspective, cultural awareness & sensitivity
