Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Content Writer with strong expertise in SEO-driven content and the higher education domain. This role goes beyond content creation—you'll own content quality and performance by identifying organic growth opportunities, optimizing high-impact pages, mentoring writers, and collaborating with SEO, Product, and Growth teams to improve search visibility and user experience.
The ideal candidate combines strong editorial judgment with a data-driven mindset and has a deep understanding of search intent, on-page SEO, and large-scale content operations.
Key Responsibilities
Create, update, and optimize high-quality content across Colleges, Exams, Courses, Scholarships, Admissions, and Career Guides.
Improve existing content using insights from Google Search Console, user behavior, and SEO best practices.
Conduct keyword research, search intent analysis, and competitor benchmarking to identify organic growth opportunities.
Optimize content through metadata, internal linking, content structuring, and on-page SEO best practices.
Review, edit, and audit content to ensure editorial excellence, factual accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
Work extensively with education datasets, including admissions, eligibility, fees, rankings, placements, cut-offs, and course information.
Publish, manage, and maintain content through the CMS while ensuring consistency across large content inventories.
Conduct periodic content audits to identify outdated, underperforming, and high-potential content for optimization.
Collaborate closely with SEO, Product, and Growth teams to improve rankings, search visibility, and overall user experience.
Mentor junior writers through editorial reviews, constructive feedback, and contributions to editorial guidelines and content SOPs.
Leverage AI-powered tools responsibly to improve research and productivity while ensuring originality, factual accuracy, and editorial quality.
Requirements
2+ years of experience in SEO-driven content writing, preferably within the EdTech industry.
Strong understanding of higher education content, including colleges, admissions, entrance exams, and courses.
Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Ahrefs, or SEMrush.
Strong knowledge of keyword research, search intent mapping, and on-page SEO.
Ability to work with data-intensive content while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and large-scale publishing workflows.
Experience managing or optimizing large content inventories is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with education platforms such as Collegedunia, Shiksha, Careers360, CollegeDekho, or similar organizations.
Experience managing or optimizing 500+ SEO pages or other large-scale content projects.
Strong understanding of E-E-A-T, topical authority, semantic SEO, and content clustering.
Experience mentoring writers and maintaining high editorial standards.
Experience integrating AI-assisted workflows into content creation and optimization while maintaining quality.
