Job Description – Class 2 Boiler Operator
Location: Kandivali West, Mumbai
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor steam boilers and related utility equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted steam supply for ice cream production.
- Maintain boiler pressure, temperature, and water levels within specified limits.
- Perform boiler start-up, shutdown, blowdown, and routine inspections.
- Monitor water treatment and maintain boiler water quality.
- Record operating parameters and maintain logbooks.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and coordinate with the engineering team for breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with boiler regulations, safety standards, GMP, and food manufacturing hygiene practices.
- Monitor fuel consumption and optimize boiler efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the boiler house.
Qualifications
- Valid Second Class Boiler Operator/Boiler Attendant Certificate.
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience operating boilers in a food, dairy, FMCG, or manufacturing plant.
Skills
- Knowledge of steam boilers, pumps, compressors, and utilities.
- Understanding of boiler water treatment.
- Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
- Awareness of safety and food manufacturing standards.
