Interior Design Draftsman
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Interior Design Draftsman to prepare accurate technical drawings, layouts, and documentation for interior design projects. The candidate will work closely with interior designers, contractors, and clients to convert design concepts into detailed drawings suitable for execution.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare detailed 2D floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations, sections, and working drawings for interior projects.
· Develop drawings based on design concepts, site measurements, and designer instructions.
· Prepare accurate dimensions, annotations, specifications, and material details.
· Revise drawings based on feedback from designers, clients, and site teams.
· Conduct site measurements and incorporate actual site conditions into drawings.
· Ensure drawings are accurate, consistent, and comply with project requirements.
· Prepare drawing sets and documentation for site execution and contractor coordination.
· Maintain proper file naming, drawing revisions, and documentation.
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors to clarify technical drawing details when required.
· Assist the design team in resolving drawing and detailing issues during project execution.
Required Skills
· Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
· Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max or other interior-design software is an advantage.
· Good understanding of interior construction and detailing.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
· Strong knowledge of dimensions, scales, materials, furniture details, and construction methods.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
· Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
· 1–5 years of relevant experience in interior design drafting or architectural drafting.
· Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate
The ideal candidate should have strong technical drawing skills, an understanding of interior execution, and the ability to convert designer concepts into clear, practical, and accurate working drawings.
