Key Responsibilities
- Customs Clearance Management
- Oversee end-to-end import/export clearance processes.
- Ensure timely filing of Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, and other statutory documents.
- Handle HS code classification, duty calculation, and tariff compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations (CBLR).
- Liaise with customs officials, port authorities, and government agencies.
- Monitor changes in customs laws, trade policies, and tariff structures.
- Operational Leadership
- Lead and mentor CHA staff, allocating workloads effectively.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters.
- Manage post-clearance activities such as duty drawback claims and audits.
- Risk & Efficiency
- Minimize clearance delays, demurrage, and detention costs.
- Implement process improvements for faster turnaround.
- Maintain accuracy in documentation to avoid penalties.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding customs clearance.
- Provide advisory support on import/export documentation and compliance.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Required Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariff codes, and trade compliance.
- Strong expertise in documentation, duty processing, and regulatory filings.
- Proficiency in CHA tools, ERP systems, and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve clearance bottlenecks.
Qualifications
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Logistics, or International Trade.
- Valid Customs Broker License (mandatory).
- Certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
Desired Profile
- 10+ years of progressive experience in customs clearance and logistics.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale import/export operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with focus on compliance and efficiency.
- Experience in handling healthcare, pharma, or regulated industry shipments is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
