Core Responsibilities
- Dispensing medications: Accurately prepare and provide prescription drugs as prescribed by doctors.
- Patient counseling: Explain how to take medications, possible side effects, and drug interactions.
- Reviewing prescriptions: Check for errors, allergies, or harmful interactions before dispensing.
- Medication management: Maintain records and monitor patient drug therapies for effectiveness.
- Health advice: Provide guidance on minor illnesses, over-the-counter drugs, and general wellness.
- Compliance: Follow legal and ethical standards set by organizations like the Pharmacy Council of India.
- Inventory control: Manage stock, ensure proper storage, and prevent expired medication use.
