Philosophy of Education course aims to develop the abilities to examine, seek rational justifications and critique principles guiding educational practice. The course equips students to employ philosophical tools such as conceptual analysis, rational justification, argument-building and critique, in order to examine foundational issues that arise from educational discourse and practice; and arrive at reasonable responses. The issues cover thematic areas such as aims of education, curriculum, pedagogy, notions of school, nature of knowledge, nature of moral and political values in a democratic society, teaching, learning and teacher, and place of education in the life of society and individual.
Azim Premji University, Bhopal, started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.
In addition to teaching in our programmes, we offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience encompassing interdisciplinary programme design, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building, and participation in various institutional bodies. The University encourages and offers support to faculty members for pursuing their own research.
