Position: Radial Drilling Operator

Job Summary
The Radial Drilling Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining radial drilling machines to drill, ream, countersink, counterbore, and tap holes in metal components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate radial drilling machines as per job requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, drill bits, speeds, and feeds.
- Mark, align, and securely clamp workpieces before machining.
- Perform drilling, reaming, tapping, counterboring, and countersinking operations.
- Measure and inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and gauges.
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or related trade preferred.
- Experience operating radial drilling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring instruments.
Skills Required
- Technical drawing interpretation
- Machine setup and operation
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting
Preferred Experience
- 1–5 years of experience as a Radial Drilling Operator in a fabrication, heavy engineering, automotive, or manufacturing industry.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- May require shift work and overtime based on production requirements.
