Full-Stack Developer – React & Django

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to take ownership of a live admin portal built as a React single-page application, supported by a Django REST API backend.
This is a high-autonomy role within a solo or small-team environment. You will be responsible for the frontend, backend, deployment pipeline, technical maintenance, monitoring, and security standards of the platform.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, resolving existing technical issues, improving code quality, and taking accountability for the stability and performance of a live production application.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve features across the React frontend and Django REST Framework backend.
- Manage Redux Toolkit, RTK Query API integrations, application state, and authentication flows.
- Maintain JWT authentication using secure HTTP-only refresh cookies.
- Diagnose and resolve existing technical debt, including a known 401 token-refresh race condition.
- Set up monitoring, application performance monitoring, and error-tracking tools such as Sentry.
- Maintain the Netlify deployment pipeline and environment configurations.
- Review pull requests and enforce consistent development standards.
- Maintain linting, formatting, and code-quality practices.
- Identify and remove dead code, legacy code, unused components, and debugging logs.
- Improve application performance, stability, and maintainability.
- Manage secure token handling, HTTPS enforcement, XSS prevention, and secrets management.
- Investigate and resolve production bugs and API integration issues.
- Document important technical decisions, workflows, and system configurations.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3–5 years of professional full-stack development experience.
- Strong experience with React 19 or a recent version of React.
- Strong knowledge of Redux Toolkit and RTK Query.
- Professional experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
- Experience building and maintaining JWT-based authentication systems.
- Strong understanding of REST API development and integration.
- Experience using Git and GitHub with pull request-based development workflows.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS.
- Experience using component libraries such as shadcn/ui.
- Good understanding of frontend and backend security best practices.
- Ability to independently manage and maintain a live production application.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience diagnosing and fixing concurrency issues or race-condition bugs.
- Experience setting up Sentry, APM, logging, or error-tracking systems from scratch.
- Experience with Vite and React Router.
- Experience with AG Grid.
- Experience with React Hook Form and Zod.
- Experience auditing and removing dead, duplicate, or legacy code.
- Familiarity with Netlify deployments and environment management.
- Experience working within a small team or taking sole technical ownership of a project.
