About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD implementation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AWS services, Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Chef while ensuring high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization of cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other DevOps tools.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters and microservices architecture.
- Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, ALB, CloudFront, API Gateway, WAF, IAM, EBS, Route 53, and Auto Scaling.
- Create and maintain Chef cookbooks and recipes for automating middleware installation and server configuration.
- Automate deployment and configuration of middleware such as Apache Tomcat, JDK, Oracle Database, and related applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and design cloud infrastructure accordingly.
- Design secure cloud architectures including IAM roles, security groups, networking, load balancing, storage, and database connectivity.
- Plan and implement backup, disaster recovery, failover architecture, and business continuity strategies with defined RTO and RPO objectives.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, server health, and application availability.
- Perform infrastructure sizing and capacity planning based on application traffic and workload requirements.
- Optimize AWS resource utilization and monitor cloud costs to ensure cost efficiency.
- Configure monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for production environments.
- Conduct infrastructure validation, sanity testing, and deployment verification.
- Implement security best practices and least-privilege access controls across cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high system availability.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on DevOps best practices.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and support automation initiatives across teams.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in AWS Cloud and DevOps.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and pipeline automation.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong experience with Jenkins.
- Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with Docker and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Chef configuration management.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services including:

- Experience with Linux system administration.
- Good understanding of networking concepts including Layer 7 routing and load balancing.

- Experience in AWS cost optimization and infrastructure monitoring.
- Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, or Shell scripting.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with production-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience working in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
