About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with 7–9 years of overall software development experience, including a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Node.js and strong expertise in MongoDB.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications and APIs. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to take ownership of backend development and system architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Design and optimize MongoDB databases, collections, schemas, indexes, and queries.
- Develop efficient and scalable database solutions using MongoDB.
- Analyze and improve application and database performance.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Participate in system design and architecture discussions.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and product managers.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
- Ensure backend systems are reliable, scalable, and secure.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7–9 years of professional experience in software/backend development.
- Minimum 5 years of strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Strong experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
- Strong expertise in MongoDB, including:
- Database and collection design
- Schema design
- Indexing and query optimization
- Aggregation pipelines
- Data modeling
- Performance optimization
- Strong understanding of REST API development.
- Good knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with Git and version control systems.
- Understanding of authentication technologies such as JWT/OAuth.
- Good understanding of application security and best practices.
- Experience with debugging and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with AWS / Azure / Google Cloud.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems.
- Experience developing high-traffic and distributed applications.
- Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Understanding of system design and cloud architecture.
- Experience in mentoring and leading development teams.
