Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior AV Engineer to lead the technical execution of audio-visual projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for on-site installation, integration, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced AV systems across auditoriums, meeting rooms, classrooms, boardrooms, and large-scale facilities.
This role is hands-on and requires deep technical knowledge of AV equipment, signal flows, control systems, and networking fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Installation
- Lead the installation of AV systems including displays, LED walls, projectors, PA systems, microphones, amplifiers, DSPs, mixers, and control processors.
- Perform cable routing, termination, rack building, and equipment mounting with professional workmanship.
- Validate system wiring, signal flow, and device connectivity per approved drawings and schematics.
System Configuration & Commissioning
- Configure DSPs (Q-SYS, Biamp, BSS, etc.), video switches, audio processors, and control processors.
- Test and tune AV systems for optimal audio and visual performance.
- Perform calibration for projectors, LED walls, and audio zones.
- Work with programming teams to integrate control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX).
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve complex AV, network, and electrical interface issues.
- Provide post-installation technical support and issue resolution.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and health checks on AV equipment.
Documentation & Coordination
- Review AV drawings, schematics, BOQs, and installation guides.
- Prepare test reports, commissioning documents, and punch lists.
- Coordinate with design engineers, vendors, and site teams to ensure timely execution.
- Provide technical inputs to the project team when needed (but not project management tasks).
Team Leadership
- Guide and train junior engineers and technicians on installation and technical standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality workmanship across the site.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Electrical / AV Engineering or related field.
- 7–10 years of hands-on experience in AV installation, integration, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems including:
- Displays, Projectors, LED Walls
- Audio systems, Microphones, Amplifiers
- DSP platforms (Q-SYS, Biamp, BSS)
- Control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
- AVoIP basics (Dante, AVB, NDI is a plus)
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, device manuals.
- Good understanding of network-based AV systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical challenges independently.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications
- Industry certifications: CTS, Q-SYS Level 1/2, Dante Level 1/2/3, Crestron/Extron certificates.
- Experience with auditorium, conference room, or government AV projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Visio for basic markup.
