As a fast-growing organization, we are looking for a skilled Furnace Operator (Electrical Engineer) to operate and monitor continuous annealing furnaces, ensure optimum furnace performance, maintain product quality, and support smooth manufacturing operations.
Job Summary
The Furnace Operator (Electrical Engineer) will be responsible for operating and monitoring annealing furnaces, maintaining process parameters, ensuring electrical system reliability, troubleshooting minor electrical issues, and coordinating with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to achieve production and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor continuous annealing furnaces as per production requirements.
- Set and monitor furnace parameters including temperature, speed, atmosphere, and cooling systems.
- Ensure proper annealing of wire as per customer specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor electrical panels, control systems, motors, sensors, heaters, and instrumentation.
- Perform routine inspections of furnace equipment and electrical systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical and operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance department for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Maintain furnace operation logs, production records, and shift reports.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, and process parameters.
- Monitor energy consumption and support initiatives for energy efficiency.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and adherence to 5S practices in the furnace area.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and electrical safety standards.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of furnace operations and heat treatment processes.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, motors, control panels, sensors, and industrial instrumentation.
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Understanding of PLCs, VFDs, temperature controllers, and industrial automation.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and process parameters.
- Familiarity with TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance/production documentation.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in furnace operation within steel, wire, heat treatment, engineering, or automotive manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience with continuous annealing furnaces, electrical control panels, and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns when required.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and result-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude.
