Video Editor – Documentary & Storytelling | Unmukt Vani
Unmukt Vani is looking for an experienced Video Editor to work on Hindi documentary, storytelling, spiritual and narrative YouTube content.
Our videos are story-led and narration-driven. We are looking for an editor who understands that good editing is not simply putting images together — it is about creating emotion, rhythm, continuity and engagement through visuals.
Key responsibilities:
- Edit narration-led documentary and storytelling videos for YouTube.
- Translate a finished script and narration into a compelling visual story.
- Select and arrange appropriate photographs, video footage and AI-generated visuals.
- Create visual continuity and variety when working with still images.
- Maintain the right pacing between narration, visuals and music.
- Use thoughtful transitions, text, titles and subtitles where appropriate.
- Create emotional and cinematic rhythm without excessive effects.
- Coordinate with our audio/sound specialist for voice, BGM and sound design.
- Incorporate feedback and deliver polished final videos.
- Prepare videos in YouTube-ready formats and resolutions.
- Maintain consistency in visual style across different Unmukt Vani series.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in video editing, preferably in documentaries, storytelling, podcasts, films, educational or narrative YouTube content.
- Strong sense of storytelling, pacing and visual composition.
- Ability to work with narration as the primary storytelling element.
- Experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar professional editing software.
- Good understanding of colour correction, subtitles, graphics and basic sound synchronization.
- Experience working with AI-generated images/video is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to revise work based on creative direction.
Important:
This is not primarily a reels/short-form or promotional-video editing role. We are looking for someone who enjoys long-form storytelling and documentary-style editing.
Our scripts and creative direction will be provided by Unmukt Vani. The editor will be responsible for translating that direction into a polished visual experience.
We would initially like to work on a paid trial project. If the collaboration works well, there is potential for regular freelance work with Unmukt Vani.
