A Snapshot of Your Day
As a PAC Tender Engineer, you will be responsible for developing competitive and technically compliant bids for Substation Protection, Control, RTU, SCADA, and Automation projects. You will analyze customer specifications, define optimized technical solutions, coordinate with OEMs and suppliers, prepare bill of quantities and cost estimates, identify project risks, and support bid strategy development. Working closely with sales, proposal management, engineering, procurement, and global technology teams, you will play a key role in securing profitable business opportunities while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Analyze RFQs, customer specifications, tender documents, and contract requirements related to Substation Protection, Control, Automation (SAS), SCADA, RTU, Communication, and Cyber Security systems.
- Develop technically compliant and commercially competitive PAC solutions, including Protection Systems, SAS, SCADA, RTU, HMI, Communication Networks, Gateways, and Digital Substation architectures in line with customer and utility requirements.
- Prepare technical bid documentation, compliance matrices, deviations, clarifications, system architecture diagrams, communication philosophies, BOQs, and engineering deliverables required for proposal submission.
- Define substation automation and protection architectures, including selection of IEDs, RTUs, SCADA/HMI platforms, networking equipment, cybersecurity components, time synchronization systems, and communication interfaces.
- Evaluate technical offers from OEMs and suppliers, develop optimized technical solutions, perform cost analysis, and support competitive bid strategy while balancing technical compliance, execution risk, and profitability objectives.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Procurement, Engineering, Project Management, Global Product Teams, OEMs, and suppliers to develop winning tender solutions and successful customer proposals.
- Identify technical, commercial, contractual, supply chain, and execution risks during bid preparation and develop mitigation strategies to enhance bid competitiveness and project execution readiness.
- Participate in customer discussions, technical clarification meetings, bid reviews, negotiations, and solution presentations while supporting qualification requirements, customer audits, and business development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standardized PAC solution libraries, engineering templates, cost databases, and tendering tools while continuously incorporating lessons learned, market intelligence, and emerging technologies into future bids.
What You Bring
- University degree in electrical engineering, automation or similar.
- 8+ years’ experience in substation control and protection system, energy transmission and distribution.
- Professional experience in bid preparation / management, tendering international bids for energy projects.
- Technical and Business type verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English (mandatory)
- Good understanding of the power distribution / transmission market and technologies, mainly in protection and control and HMI solutions, SCADA and cyber security.
- Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
