Job Summary
The OPD Computer Operator is responsible for assisting consultants during patient consultations by accurately entering patient details, typing prescribed medicines, investigations, diagnostic tests, and treatment advice into the Hospital Information System (HIS) or computer software. The role ensures timely and error-free documentation, smooth OPD workflow, and patient satisfaction while maintaining confidentiality and NABH documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist consultants during OPD consultations by typing prescribed medicines, diagnostic tests, clinical advice, and follow-up recommendations.
· Enter patient information accurately into the Hospital Information System (HIS).
· Generate and print prescriptions, investigation slips, referral forms, and follow-up sheets.
· Ensure correct spelling, dosage, frequency, and investigation details as dictated by consultants.
· Maintain confidentiality of patient records and medical information.
· Coordinate with laboratory, pharmacy, billing, and radiology departments for smooth patient flow.
· Verify patient registration details before prescription generation.
· Maintain proper digital records of OPD consultations and reports.
· Inform consultants immediately regarding any data entry errors or incomplete information.
· Support OPD administrative activities as assigned by hospital management.
· Ensure proper handling of computer systems, printers, and related equipment.
· Follow hospital policies, infection control practices, and NABH standards.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum Graduate.
· Diploma/Certificate in Computer Applications preferred
· Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
· Experience in hospital OPD/HIS operations preferred
Required Skills
· Fast and accurate typing skills
· Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, HIS Software)
· Good communication and coordination skills
· Ability to work under pressure in busy OPD settings

Working Conditions
· Work involves prolonged computer usage
· Rotational duty shifts may be applicable
· Daily interaction with doctors, patients, and hospital staff

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
