Production Engineer – Injection Moulding Operations

Reports To- Production Manager / Plant Head
Experience- 10 Years +
Industry Preference- Injection Moulding / Plastic Packaging / Manufacturing
Qualification- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Plastic / Polymer Engineering

Job Purpose
To handle complete production and processing activities of the Injection Moulding department, ensuring optimum productivity, quality, manpower utilization, and machine efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Handle complete production operations of the Injection Moulding department including planning, processing, and manpower management.
· Set and optimize process parameters for different Injection Moulding Machines to achieve desired product quality and production output.
· Ensure smooth production with minimum rejection, cycle time optimization, and maximum machine utilization.
· Hands-on experience in processing different raw materials such as PPCP, HDPE, LLDPE, Nylon, ABS, and engineering polymers.
· Monitor moulding parameters, product quality, machine performance, and production efficiency on a regular basis.
· Troubleshoot processing defects such as shrinkage, flow marks, short moulding, warpage, flash, burn marks, and dimensional variations.
· Coordinate with Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, and Dispatch departments for smooth plant operations.
· Ensure proper mould loading/unloading, machine setting, and production startup activities.
· Maintain production records, rejection analysis, shift reports, and machine-wise performance reports.
· Supervise and lead operators, setters, helpers, and contractual manpower within the department.
· Develop discipline, productivity culture, and safe working practices among the workforce.
· Implement and monitor 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities in the production area.
· Ensure adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and quality compliance during production operations.
· Support new product development trials, mould trials, and process improvements.
· Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials, utilities, and manpower to control manufacturing costs.
Technical Skills Required
· Strong hands-on experience in Injection Moulding machine operation and processing.
· Knowledge of different Injection Moulding Machines, moulds, hot runner systems, and auxiliary equipment.
· Understanding of polymer behavior, raw material properties, and processing conditions.
· Experience in handling hydraulic, servo, and fully automatic Injection Moulding Machines.
· Ability to optimize cycle time, reduce rejection, and improve production efficiency.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability related to moulding defects and process stability.
· Knowledge of production planning, manpower handling, and shop floor management.
· Basic computer knowledge and ERP/SAP exposure preferred.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,600,000.00 per year
